Thigh Lift / Lower Body Lift
Candidates for body lifts typically suffer from loose (inelastic), unsightly skin on many or most areas of the body as a result of age; childbearing or significant weight loss due to diet, exercise or bariatric surgery. The circumferential body lifts, also called “belt lipectomy”, or “torsoplasty” tighten and tone the abdomen, back, buttocks, hips and thighs.
The medial thigh lift is performed with incisions in the groin crease, or occasionally a vertical incision where skin is undermined, excess fat is liposuctioned and skin redraped for a more toned look.
The lower body lift addresses the buttocks, lower abdomen and outer thighs. During the procedure, the circumferential incision is made, skin is released from underlying tissue, muscles are tightened (abdomen) and the skin redraped. Liposuction is employed for further contouring. The navel is often repositioned. Small drainage tubes are inserted and maintained in place for a few days. Lower body lifts are performed in the hospital and hospital stay for 2 to 3 days may be necessary. Medial thigh lift is performed as ambulatory cases.
After surgery, patients are encouraged to walk as soon as they are able. A compression garment is worn for a minimum of 2 weeks continuously and another 2 to 3 weeks at nights.
Recovery form a lower body lift may take about 3 weeks, where from a thigh lift is much quicker.
Your surgeries can be staged based on your medical needs and downtime.
