Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

Brachioplasty surgically reshapes the upper arm

After substantial weight loss, weight gain or simply from the effects of aging, skin on the upper arms and its underlying tissue can become inelastic, loose and flabby giving a bat wing appearance. For some, heredity may also play a role.

Arm lifts, also known as brachioplasty, surgically reshapes the upper arm by reducing excess skin and fat, and tightening the underlying supporting tissue. Incisions are generally placed on the inside of the upper arm and may extend from the underarm (axilla) to just above the elbow. Depending on the nature of the deformity, the incision may be more limited, or some are even amenable to sculpting with liposuction alone. Small drainage tubes are placed during surgery and are maintained for a few days. Sutures used are dissolving and do not require their removal.

On your consultation with Dr. Sabry, will thoroughly examine you and decide the option that suits your needs best.

The surgery May take between 2 to 3 hrs and recovery may take a week. A compression garment is worn for two weeks following surgery. Light exercises may begin a week after surgery, but more strenuous activities should be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks.
