Coolsculpting by Zeltig™ is an FDA approved device that cools and breaks down fat cells in a targeted area. There are no needles, surgical incisions, anesthetics or pain medications needed. The Coolsculpting device crystallizes fat cells by freezing them, causing the body to react with an inflammatory response. The body, over a six to eight week period, disposes of the frozen fat cells without harming the surrounding tissue. Temporary side effects to the procedure may include redness, minor bruising, cramping, tingling or numbness in the treatment area.

Patients experience a 20-27% reduction of fat in the treatment area and a significant improvement in the shape of the body. Coolsculpting can be repeated after two to four months, resulting in an additional 20% reduction of the fat layer.
